Gravel Route: Greifensee - Gruningen - Pfannenstiel
This route takes you from Zurich over to Greifensee, toward Grüningen, and back through Pfanenstiel. It combines rolling gravel roads with views of the Alps, some single track following the river, and some asphalt sections. It's the perfect route for an after-work ride when you want to add a few more kilometers.
Coming out of Zurich, following the single-track trails of Pfadiweg up to Zollikerberg, is my favorite route to escape the city. You'll reach Zollikerberg and begin the descent to the Greifensee. From there, the rolling part begins, with a combination of light gravel roads and some small asphalt sections cutting through farms, offering a spectacular view of the Alps in the background. Then it's back to Pfanenstiel, a pleasant climb before descending back to Zurich.
