Road cycling route from Saint-Tropez to Rayol-canadel-sur-mer loop

Are you going to Saint Tropez and want to get your dose of Vitamin C-Cycling? Here is a route we did last year that take you through stunning Mediterranean landscapes, pine forest and French Vineyards. This cycling route give you a perfect feeling of the Cote d'Azur. 

The Route

This road cycling route takes you from Saint-Tropez on the French Riviera to Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer, a seaside little town South of Saint-Tropez. The route is just over 50 kilometers long and can be done in a morning. Perfect to for a quick ride before a day of beach. 

The route starts in Saint-Tropez, where you'll ride along the coast before heading inland. You'll wind your way through the countryside, passing fields of lavender and vineyards. The scent of Provence will fill your lungs along the way. This part is partly a bike lane but until La Mole Airport is a busy road, we recommend avoiding it in Summer or weekends!

Once you reach the airport is time to climb a beautiful pass in the middle of a pine forest. Don't worry is a mild climb of 6km and under 300m of uphill. The summit will reward you with a beautiful view of the Mediterrean.

The downhill to Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer, will gift you beautiful views of the. The final stretch of the route takes you along stretches on the seafront and inland. You will pass some nice vacation Towns and the finally ride along the popular Plage de Pampelonne where most of Saint-Tropey Beach clubs are.

What to see along the way

This route will ride you through some stunning French Riviera sceneries, from the Iconic Saint-Tropey, Vineyards, Lavander fields, the Mediterrean to Plage de Pampelonne.

Take the time to enjoy the Road and forget about breaking strava record, is better to stop to enjoy the views!

The beach at Pampelonne is a great place to take a dip and relax in the sun. There's also a number of beach bars and restaurants where you can enjoy some refreshments.


Saint-Tropez is full of shops, cafes and restaurants to explore. Take the time to wander around and soak up the atmosphere of one of the most famous an exclusives vacation town in the Mediterrean.
