Road cycling route: Lugano - Morcote - Sette Termini - Alto Malcantone

Finally, I found the time to write about the second route we did in Lugano, in the beautiful Ticino canton of Switzerland.. This route takes you through beautiful towns in Ticino, challenging climbs and stunning lake views. Some of the highlights are: Lugano, Morcote, Lake Lugano and Maggiore and the beautiful Alto Malcantone.

We kick things off in Lugano, where the cool vibes and lake views set the perfect mood. After fuelling up with a great cappuccino and pistachio croissant. Cycling along the Lugano lake, we reach the medieval village of Morcote, voted always as one of the top 10 most beautiful villages in Switzerland.

We continue along the lakeside and cross into Italy for the Sette Termini climb! It's tough, no doubt, but the scenery is fantastic, you'll forget the burn. As we zoom down, Lake Maggiore comes into sight, like a sparkling blue gem.

One last challenge: the ascent to Alto Malcantone. The legs were a bit dead on this second day of climbing, but the lush forests and cozy villages keep us going and the final scalextric downhill with the view over the valley and Lake Lugano in the back is amazing.
