Road cycling route: Passo Giau and Passo Falzarego

A route that combines challenging ascents, stunning scenery, and a taste of the Giro d’Italia . This is the essence of road cycling through the Dolomites. This routes takes you to two legendary passes, Passo Giau and Passo Falzarego. A fantastic loop of aroung 50km and 1700m gain.

Passo Giau

It’s no surprise that Passo Giau has secured its status as a classic Pass in the Giro d'Italia. Our climb began from the Cortina d’Ampezzo side, featuring a slightly gentler incline. Nevertheless, it remains a demanding pass to ascend. Yet, the mesmerizing beauty that envelops you is bound to captivate your senses.

Passo Falzarego

After descending the Passo Giau, It’s time to tackle the second Pass of this route and the second Giro d’Italia-featured pass. The tarmac was recently renewed, offered a smooth surface for our ride. From this side the climb is longer but a more gradual climb. Starting from the serene Alpine Forest, culminated beneath the imposing rocky formations of Sass de Stria and Lagaccio Grande. A must in the Dolomites.
