The Zurich - Zug - Schwyz - Ibergeregg Pass Road Cycling Route is a great way to Zurich, Zug and Schwyz with a nice Mountain Pass.

The Route is a total of 130 km and over 1500m of elevation gain. The biggest challenge of the route (on top of the length) is the Ibergeregg Pass. The pass is 11.0km, 880m of elevation gain wich result in an respectful 8.1% average gradient with some 11% sections.

As usual we start in Bellevue Platz and head north towards Zug. Zug is a lovely town with a interesting history and you can see that in the Old Town. Is a good place to stop for a snack or a drink. There are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops. 

The route continues north along the Lake of Zug until the Iconic town of Schwyz. Make sure you take the time to enjoy the church square. This is a must see for anyone passing the by but most importantly a required stop to refuel before heading towards to toughest part of the route. You might want to grab a coffee, or get a snack and check out one of the nearby restaurants.

Then it's time for some climbing, yes this road goes up ! Right from Schwyz all the way through Oberiberg and Unteriberg to the pass summit at just under 1500 metres above sea level. Here you can have a rest and take in the views before making your way back down towards the Lake Sihl and then back to Zurich Lake area.

This route is perfect for those who want to experience the best of both worlds – the bustling towns and the Mountains of Switzerland. The route is challenging, making it ideal for cyclists with experience that want a nice Challenge.

The Grosser Mythen is another highlight of the route. This mountain is a popular destination for hikers. The views from the top are simply stunning, but the scenery cycling around this massive Rock is amazing.

One of the highlights of the route is the climb up to Ibergeregg Pass. This challenging section will test your fitness, but the views from the top are more than worth it. You'll also enjoy descending into the valley on the other side of the pass.
